Range Riders Hand Mustangs First Loss of Season
May 22, 2026

The Billings Mustangs (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season as the Glacier Range Riders (4-0) took the home opener at Dehler Park 17-9 on Friday night.

The Range Riders grabbed the lead with a pair of runs in the second inning and never looked back, gradually adding to their advantage before breaking the game open with a 10-run sixth inning to build a commanding 15-1 lead.

Despite the large deficit, the Mustangs continued to fight and brought some life to the home crowd with seven runs in the home half of the seventh.

Bodee Wright came off the bench in the seventh to hit a bases-clearing triple while Michael Soper added a two-run homer.

Billings would fall short in their bid for another comeback, however, as Glacier held on for the victory.

The three game series continues on Saturday night at Dehler Park as Harry Orth is scheduled to start for the Mustangs against Aidan Elfering for the Range Riders. First pitch is set for 6:35 pm.
