Jun 20, 2026

The Billings Mustangs (22-6) answered an early deficit with another explosive offensive performance on Saturday night against the Great Falls Voyagers (12-17), winning 15-12 to even the three-game series.

Great Falls struck first with four runs in the opening inning, but Billings immediately began chipping away. Michael Soper delivered an RBI single and Jacob Gutierrez added an RBI double in the bottom of the first to cut the deficit in half.

The Mustangs took a lead they would never surrender in the second, scoring five times. Cameron Bowen highlighted the inning with a go-ahead three-run homer, his tenth of the season. Gutierrez collected his second RBI double of the game, while Jack Nehler hit an RBI single to help the Mustangs take a 7-4 lead.

The Voyagers responded with two runs in the third to make it a 7-6 ballgame, but Billings continued to add on, scoring in seven of the eight innings they came to the plate.

Demias Jimerson launched his fourth home run of the season with a solo shot in the fourth, while A.J. Shaver contributed a pair of two-run triples in the game. Additionally, Bowen finished just a double shy of the cycle while driving in five.

Great Falls brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth inning, but Lucas Hartman managed to retire Tommy Specht on a flyout to left to end the game.

Hayden Mullins (3-1) earned the victory in his return to the Mustangs, tossing two scoreless innings. Chris Peguero (2-1) suffered the loss for the Voyagers.

The win keeps the Mustangs as the only team in the Pioneer League to not suffer consecutive losses this season.

The Mustangs and Voyagers conclude their three-game series on Sunday afternoon at Dehler Park. First pitch on Father's Day is scheduled for 1:05 pm. David Hankins is expected to start for the Mustangs against Colin Murphy of Great Falls.
